Here we’ll talk about all the cool stuff nearby that you can check out to add to your experience in Okinawa. Some can also be wrapped into a tour!
eat and coffee
Picnic
Packing a lunch is a great way to simply picnic and enjoy a meal out in nature. The Retro hardtails come with front racks and a lunchbag to make that easier. You can also pick up something from the 7-11 near the shop: https://maps.app.goo.gl/XYVJkSGCL6rZd2AG7
Funny Pao’s Cheeseburgers
Not sure what the name means, but this is a rad little place for a burger and are said to be the island’s best! It has a beautiful little view of the sea and also is located near Senaha Beach. If taking on the Zakimi Castle or Zampa Lighthouse route, this burger shop is located right after exiting the jungle tetrapod back roads.

Bloom Coffee
I went through a pretty intense coffee nerd phase. These guys are way more into it than I ever was. Some of them even have funny mustaches. They don’t do fluffy here, just the straight bean experience which they roast themselves. You’ll smell it.

Atabiis Burgers
If you passed up on Funny Pao’s because you didn’t want to do an epic with a cheeseburger in you, but thoughts of cheeseburgers have haunted you since, you could satisfy that here. Located at Gala Aoi Umi there’s also a bunch of other cool stuff in the area to check out.

Nukumi Kitchen
Want something a little less burgery, Nukumi Kitchen is a fresh option for tacos and burritos. Also in Gala Aoi Umi.

Caprice Bottle Shop
A sweet little craft beer and distilled drinks shop located in Gala Aoi Umi. Japan has a pretty progressive craft beer scene and there’s also a few very passionate brewers in Okinawa, too, that I’ve had the pleasure of meeting in my days at Okinawa Brewing Company. Cliff of Cliff Beer is an artist of both brew and illustration and comes out with very creative beers and labels. Fill of Fill Brewing will also be one of your favorite people ever and has a surprisingly solid old school pale ale. This shop also has a “crowler” machine and some sweet label designs so you could order something on tap to be enjoyed at another time.

Bluefield River Kayaking
Get on a kayak and enjoy the cool jungle mangrooves of the Hija River. While we don’t have a regular tour on the menu that involves this area, we do offer them on request and can make for a really special day. There’s actually a super cutty fenceline trail that goes South from the shop and we go across 58 to this area, taking on all kinds of cool sights such as the red bridge over this river and could also check out Toguchi beach and it’s gorgeous caves. It’s a long mellow climb from here back to the shop, but if you’re planning to go to Chatan or have a hotel near this area, you could leave the bikes for the Cutty Kei Truck to pick up and walk or take a taxi to your next destination.

cultural Okinawa experiences
Murasaki Mura
Probably the best place to experience traditional Okinawa crafts and culture with 32 workshops. You can paint a little shisa, squeeze a sugar cane, wear Okinawan clothes, make a sanshin out of a can and learn to play it, all kinds of good stuff. Just don’t start any problems because there’s a Karate school here too. But Okinawans are so chill, you’ll probably still get a deep bow after the beat down. They also do a lot of various festivals like season lantern festivals and Eisa. My wife also said she saw a ghost here, if you’re into that. spooky spooky.
The largest number of experiences in Okinawa Prefecture! Okinawa’s first experience-based accommodation hotel OPEN!Whale shark diving,Various experiences OK!
Ryukyu Mura
The hardcore version of Murasaki Mura. Can be wrapped into the Road to Maeda Tour.

Gala Aoi Umi
A pretty little area with activities, food, and even a craft beer bottle shop! Located at the last part of the Yomitan Super Splore Tour before the climb back, some rider even choose to end the tour here to really take their time and enjoy all the various stuff this place has to offer. From here they can ride the bikes back to the shop to return them if rented, or have the Cutty Kei Truck come in and pick up the bikes (skipping the the hill climb back!). Being a pretty popular even if lesser known area, taxi’s are often waiting and anyone in the shops can call one for you. If you want to take matters into your own hands with taxis you could even download the DiDi app for easy taxi arrangement.

Yachimun no Sato (Pottery Village)
Right behind the Cutty Jungle shop is not only more parking spaces, but a bunch of fancy little pottery houses that sell and make some of the coolest pottery. Some of the shops have workshops that you can peer into and watch the magic happen. There’s also a cool little cafe.
