Gravel Loop
Closed road. Former military facility. Generally easy. “Choose your own adventure” type experience. Some spicy sections, like The Worst Tern, which is the exit of Terns for the Worst. Which is also a great trail to learn berms and jumps. Moto Area has is also a great place to learn chutes, rhythm, and varied terrain. Tetrapods offers a great view of Maeda. If you want to talk to an old Okinawan local about his C4 Corvette over some coffee, you can ride past the cemetery onto public roads and also go down to the main road for a cheeseburger. There’s also a helicopter!

Spider Loop
Varied terrain, mix of gravel and singletrack. General direction is counter-clockwise. Great place to practice more advanced riding skills. Signature trail would be Skelator. Janky DH with ruts, roots, turns, and a drop. Making a left onto Creek, takes you to a creek. Going right takes you to where there used to be a picnic table. You can ride down and to La Luge from here.

La Luge
Treacherous hike up but leads to an Ishikawa Kogen Observatory where you can see both sides of Okinawa. Up and Down type thing so great during spider season because you can clear while going up, and have a 80% spider free decent. During the weekend there are sometimes hikers and runners so maybe don’t rail blind corners. This is a public trail! Also if you park at the bottom, during hours of operation for the restaurant down there, it would be nice if you parked on the side of the road leading in instead of their parking area.

SCENIC RIDE

Scenic mostly urban ride that takes about 2.5 hours leaving and returning to the shop. Very customizable, with plenty of places to take photos and also some sweet riding options like riding on the dam and down its stairs! Only one mandatory dirt section, a broken clay road before the cemetery. If you take it easy on that section, a gravel bike would be the perfect ride. Also touches Nagahama Beach and ambitious riders can take a shot at Cape Zampa. There are some short steep climbs and also some great opportunities to bomb down rough roads really fast!
